Here's proof that you don't have to completely overhaul a room to feel totally different: this incredible bedroom designed by Lindsay Souza, the interior designer behind the blog The Pursuit of Style.

This room started out like many bedrooms out there, with empty walls and a mix of furnishings. Souza's clients wanted a space that didn't feel too masculine or feminine, but reflected their love of color and pattern.

Souza started by painting the bedroom a soft warm gray, a hue that makes the space cozier. Then, she brought in key pieces that had unique motifs and textures like the upholstered headboard, assorted pillows, and sconces.

These elements really liven up the room without overpowering it. Our favorite accessory has to be the nightstands. Each is wrapped in a lush blue grasscloth wallpaper that's treated to prevent stains from spills. Functional and fabulous.

We also love how the neutral paint makes the perfect backdrop for the vibrant accessories. Maybe gray is the new white?
